Bad diet

Your diet can be a contributing factor to your health condition. Bad diet can result to poor health. If you have a fissure and you noticed that it’s not healing, there’s a possibility that it might have something to do with your diet. For people with this condition, it is advised to eat foods that are high in fiber like fruits, vegetables, and nuts and foods that contain whole grains (e.g. oatmeal). It is also important to drink plenty of fluids daily. Aside from water, you can also drink prune juice to stop constipation.

Vices

When one is recovering from an anal fissure, it is recommended to stop the vices as well to ensure proper healing. Weed is not really responsible for anal-related problems but it is recommended to quit smoking weed and even tobacco if your fissure is not healing. Even if they are not really related they can make your situation worse and might even cause you other health problems in the future.

Straining during your bowel movements

One possible reason why your fissure is not healing is because you keep on straining during your bowel movements. Straining is not recommended because this activity can open a fissure that is still healing. It can also create new anal fissures that will make your agony longer.

Taking wrong medications or home remedies

If you are still suffering from anal fissure, maybe you’re taking the wrong medication or you are not using the right home remedies. There’s not nothing wrong to try home remedies that can help you heal your fissure but you must be careful in taking these things.  Make sure you do your research first before taking certain over the counter medicines and applying certain things in the affected area. The amount used can be crucial. One wrong move can cause another health problem.

Other undiagnosed diseases

Anal fissures is also related to other health problems. One reason why your fissure is not healing is because you might have other diseases that are undiagnosed. If have an undiagnosed Crohn’s disease, which is a type of inflammatory bowel disease, chances are, your fissure will not yet heal. These anal cracks are also linked to having sexually transmitted infections (STIs). If other symptoms like painful urination, penile soreness or bacterial vaginosis (vaginal infection) are also experienced, it is best to go to the doctor for a check up.
